Belair Road Burger King Closed for Renovation
Update: The Burger King on South Belair Rd has reopened since the time this story was published.
The Burger King at 433 South Belair Rd has temporarily closed for a renovation, following a trend of major restaurant upgrades that the burger chain’s franchises have been undergoing for years.
A sign near the entrance of the parking lot says the restaurant is closed for remodeling.
Burger King franchises throughout the world have been revamped over the last several years, ever since the company’s former CEO John Chidsey announced in 2011 that all 12,000 of the company’s franchises worldwide would be getting a more “contemporary, edgy, futuristic” look.
Since then, franchises have spent up to $600,000 on everything from TV screen menus to industrial-style brick walls with metal finishes. Burger King has named the design “20/20” and has spent the better part of a decade incorporating it into franchises everywhere.
The Belair Road franchise has not announced a completion date for the renovation. It is one of 12 Burger King locations in the CSRA.
