City’s Visitors Expected to Have $3.3 Million Impact in November

November 2, 2017|

Visitors of Augusta who come to the city in November to attend meetings, reunions, events and sporting events in Augusta’s River Region are projected to generate at least $3.3 million in total estimated economic impact (EEI) during the month of November.

The Head of the South Regatta, an annual rowing competition, and the Augusta City Classic Hall of Fame Game, are two events on the docket this month. They’re projected to bring in $1.65 million and $500,000, respectively.

Total EEI is calculated based on research commissioned by both the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Destinations International.

Groups that planned the events—among them Augusta City Classic, Inc., GA Association of School Business Officials, the Augusta Rowing Club, New Era Baptist Convention and Newman Tennis Center—have worked the Augusta CVB or ASC at some point in the site selection or planning phase.
