Augusta University Unveils New Logo, Brand

Augusta University received its name on Dec. 1, but it got its look yesterday.

Starting at 8 a.m., 1,000 boxes of Augusta University-branded items were hand-delivered to offices across the institution, while sales of newly branded retail items began at both JagStores.

Faculty, staff and students were also encouraged to exchange legacy branded items at Swag Stops at both the Summerville and Health Sciences campuses.

Yesterday was the first time the Augusta University community was able to see its new visual identity, and the reaction was overwhelmingly positive, especially from the man in charge.

“I am just overwhelmed and blown away at how great all this stuff really looks,” President Brooks Keel told reporters in front of the Swag Stop on the Health Sciences Campus. “I think it really sets the stage for where we’re going.”

Keel, who was named president last summer, received degrees from both of Augusta University’s legacy institutions.

“I’m excited to see both of my universities, my undergraduate and graduate universities, truly becoming one and being unified with the health system under one mark,” Keel said. “It’s really an exciting day for us.”

The JagStores will continue to stock new items, while additional Swag Stops will occur on Jan. 28 and before and during the Homecoming game on Feb. 13.
