Touting the county’s growing population (124,000 … plus!) and the buying power of its residents, the DACC participated in the 2012 International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) annual RECON (or “Retail Conference”) event during May in Las Vegas. An estimated 32,000 attendees and exhibitors filled the massive Las Vegas Convention Center this year, for a week of real estate deal-making, networking, and retail marketing and promotion.

During the show, the DACC manned an exhibition booth and distributed approximately 700 pieces of promotional literature highlighting both available commercial properties and key characteristics on the county, such as its median household income ($68,986), the number of households (38,700) and the percentage of owner-occupied structures (82.3%). The DACC also participated in a few one-on-one sessions with select retailers that have announced expansion plans for the next few years. The goal of participating in the show is to build networks within the retail industry, and hopefully attract more retail development for the county.
