Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta Kicks Off Donation Campaign
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta its “Stock Our Shelves” campaign, asking people throughout the CSRA to bring in donations of food and supplies to be used in caring for over 1,000 families each year, with children receiving treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
The campaign is a partnership with South State Bank and local McDonald’s locations. Anyone can drop off goods at any South State Bank branch or the Ronald McDonald House located at 1442 Harper Street in Augusta.
“We are so grateful for South State Bank willing to collect items for us,” said Betts Murdison, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta. “We have served over 5,000 meals so far in 2018 and done over 2,000 loads of laundry. The Ronald McDonald House takes care of many of the needs of families, so they can focus on their children – and we hope everyone will help us stock our shelves. This is really an S.O.S. for help.”
The Ronald McDonald House is asking for some specific items that are used frequently by their families.
“We really need different items such as trash bags, laundry detergent, canned goods, Keurig cups, and gift cards so we can purchase fruit and dairy items” says Murdison. “Eating healthy is so important to healing and having those items help so much.”
The “Stock Our Shelves” campaign will run throughout the month of June and will end July 11th. Those wishing to donate online can also contribute to this campaign at www.rmhcaugusta.org.
