North Augusta Fair Advocates for Family Health
A local fair focused on family health in North Augusta this weekend will encourage healthy, active lifestyles during an event that will include local health and wellness businesses, free health screenings and interactive booths from local sport teams and area fitness professionals.
The Healthy Family Fair will take place on March 10 at the Riverview Park Activities Center in North Augusta from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We try to have everyone at least have a connection to health,” said Rod Barrie, one of the event’s organizers and marketing director for Comfort Keepers CSRA, a local in-home care organization that hosts the fair. “We try to make it an information fair. If you’ve got a particular thing you’re thinking about, you can usually ask one of our vendors.”
Comfort Keepers, Daybreak Adult Care Services, Alliance Hospice and the YMCA are a few of the 77 vendors that will be at the fair, which is now in its seventh year.
The North Augusta Star and the Augusta Sports Council will join Comfort Keepers in hosting the event, which is also sponsored by State Bank and Trust Company.
