Kitchenware Retailer at Augusta Mall Will Close

March 7, 2018|

Upscale kitchenware retailer Williams-Sonoma, located at the Augusta Mall, has announced that it will close soon. It is the retailer’s only location in Augusta.

A sign outside the store reads “Thank You. We will be closing this location. We apologize for any inconvenience and invite you to visit or call us at our nearby locations.”

The sign listed Williams-Sonoma’s location at the Haywood Mall in Greenville, SC, as its nearby location.

An employee who confirmed Williams-Sonoma’s closure said the store’s last day open will be around April 22. Until then, all of the store’s items are discounted 20-30 percent.

“We’re going to miss Williams-Sonoma significantly,” said Amy Dalton, general manager of the Augusta Mall.

Neither Dalton nor the employee were able to provide a reason for the store’s closure.

Williams-Sonoma is in the outdoor portion of the Augusta Mall, which is located at 3450 Wrightsboro Rd.

Williams-Sonoma had 636 stores globally as of October of last year, according to the website eMarketer Retail. The chain is based in San Francisco, CA.

They also have an awesome outlet store in Dawsonville, GA, north of Atlanta. I guess this means more trips to Atlanta, or go visit my high school buddy in Greenville.

When you rip people off what do you expect. I am glad they are gone. Now if we can just get rid of Maceys that will be even better!
