April Events Organized by Sports Council, CVB Projected to Have $3 Million Impact

Sporting events, meetings and reunions organized by the Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and Augusta Sports Council (ASC) are projected to have a local economic impact of more than $3 million next month, according to a statement from the organizations.

The National Collegiate Disc Golf Championship, 3M Augusta Invitational golf tournament and multiple basketball tournaments put on by sports marketing and management agency Lineage of Champions are among the events on the docket for April.

The CVB and ASC have worked with each of the managing organizations as they prepare for events in Augusta in the coming weeks.

Estimated economic impact (EEI) is calculated based on research commissioned by the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Destinations International, in conjunction with the U.S. Travel Association and Tourism Economics, which created the economic impact analysis that is used in many American markets.
