Search for New Economic Development Authority Director is Underway
After Economic Development Authority Walter Sprouse announced last month that he is stepping down from his position as executive director of the organization, the authority is looking for someone to fill his shoes.
Tim Chason, the recruiter’s president, is spearheading the assignment.
Sprouse’s retirement is effective Dec. 31.
The Chason Group has said that the individual in Sprouse’s role is the key contact for new business prospects for the community. The president must also work with existing industries seeking expansion opportunities.
The authority is seeking an experienced marketer for the position who will be accountable for leading the development of a strategic plan for the community in terms of economic growth. Additionally, the AEDA board is looking for a professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in executive roles in economic and community development.
Other responsibilities include budget oversight, developing a strong support staff and communicating with stakeholder groups about the programs and work of the organization.
