Economic Development Authority Director Sprouse Retires
Walter C. Sprouse, the executive director of the Augusta Economic Development Authority, announced today that he will be retiring from the Augusta Economic Development Authority at the end of the year.
Sprouse has served as the Executive Director of the Authority for the past fifteen years. During that time, more than $3 billion in new investments and more than 15,000 new jobs were created under his leadership.
Sprouse was named as one of the “Top 50 Economic Developers in North America” in 2017. He was also named one of the “100 Most Influential Georgians” by Georgia Trend magazine. He previously was named to the “Most Influential” list in 2008 and was named five times to the magazine’s Notable Georgians list.
Sprouse is an Honorary Life Member and in the College of Fellows of the International Economic Development Council, and the College of Fellows of the International Asset Management Council.
