New Panera Delivery Service Will Bring 300 Jobs to Georgia and South Carolina
Panera Bread is launching its new delivery service in Georgia, and it’s delivering local jobs too.
Panera Bread franchisee Covelli Enterprises announced on Monday the launch of a new, small order delivery service that will bring over 300 jobs to South Carolina and Georgia.
“Delivery allows us to make Panera as accessible as it is craveable and offering small order delivery is a fantastic opportunity for us,” Covelli Enterprises CEO Sam Covelli said in a statement.
Covelli Enterprises plans to launch delivery service at 14 cafes in South Carolina and Georgia. In Augusta, delivery will begin Aug. 31 at the Panera Bread located at 254 Robert C Daniel Jr Pkwy, Augusta, GA 30909.
Panera says it will deliver within a designated 8-minute radius from one of its cafés. Delivery will require a minimum order of five dollars with the addition of a three-dollar deliver charge.
“We hope to be able to reach new customers but also offer this incredibly convenient service to our existing loyal customers who are unable to make it to the bakery café on a regular basis,” Covelli said.
All delivery orders are currently placed online using the Panera Bread app or at panerabread.com. Hours of delivery service are set for 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm., meaning the first delivery order can be placed anytime from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm.
Covelli Enterprises plans to employ between 1,500 and 2,000 delivery team members (DTM’s) across all its markets by the end of 2017.
Interested prospective DTMs can apply online at jobs.panerabread.com.
Panera’s hiring process began on Thursday, Aug. 17 and will last until the end of the month.
