Art gallery closing soon

May 16, 2017|

Buzz founder Neil Gordon got an email recently from Roy  Davenport, owner of Artistic Perception, who told him they’d be closing after 27 years in operation at 551 Broad Street. Roy and his wife Wanta will appear on our radio program tomorrow.

“When Artistic Perceptions opened its doors it was the only art gallery on Broad Street. After that other art galleries started opening until about 2000 when there were about 14. By 2013 it was down to about five.

Internationally acclaimed and celebrated artist Wanta is the resident artist and creator of thousands of beautiful works of art. Wanta has decided to retire and dedicate her full time to her first love–art, specifically oil paintings on canvas.

Her way of saying a big “thank you” to all the wonderful people who have given her there support, encouragement and love all these years is to is sell all of her in-stock original paintings for 50 to 75 percent off. The last day of operation will be very soon.

Sad to hear that Artistic Perception is closing; pioneers are a rare breed indeed. As Augusta’s newest contemporary art gallery, we at Wolf and Finch will do our best to carry the torch and fight the good fight.
