Former Restaurant Location Has Been Rebuilt
Downtown Augusta, already known for its unique variety of restaurants, will soon have a new option for food lovers: The Olde Town Diner.
The Olde Towne Diner occupies the space on 6th and Greene Streets in downtown Augusta and is expected to open in January. The property was previously home to The Old Whistle Stop Café which burnt down in November 2011 in a suspected arson
Fred Daitch purchased the property and has spent over $100,000 rebuilding the property and putting in new equipment. After 372 days of renovations and three times the expected budget, the restaurant recently passed its final inspection with flying colors.
Upon its opening, The Olde Town Dinner will be serving breakfast and lunch.
