The Pita Pit is opening on Washington Road in Evans in the former “Whatever” Unique Gifts space next to the Washington Road entrance of Home Depot. They’ll occupy the end cap unit next to a chiropractor and Modish Salon. Some of the restaurant equipment is in the facility and Dave Fahrion of Fahrion Builds is handling the build out and design of the restaurant. The opening appears to be months away.
Pita Pit’s website indicates that the local franchisee is paying between $200,000 and $300,000 to get started factoring in equipment, build-out, training, marketing and more. Regionally, Pita Pit has been very popular in college towns like Athens, Statesboro, and Columbia.
They are known for serving up the rare combination of healthy, fresh, and fast food utilizing Lebanese style Pita’s and vegetable and meat sandwiches such as: Chicken Caesar, Club, Philly Steak, Gyro’s, Chicken Souvlaki, Turkey, Prime Rib, Ham, BLT, Tuna, and more.
The Pita Pit will also serve salads, soups, and smoothies—it is unknown if the Evans franchisee will offer breakfasts as others do in the chain.
According to Inc. Magazine, The Pita Pit is the #124th best franchise in the country and the #1 Pita franchise. They are also ranked the 3,296 th fastest growing private companies in the world.
The CSRA has had a handful of “Mediterranean type” restaurants—such as Laziza’s on Washington Road and Papa N Son’s (formerly Dino’s).
