JAMES BROWN ARENA BREAKS BOX OFFICE RECORD WITH HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS FOR FIFTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR
The world famous Harlem Globetrotters brought their 2013 “You Write the Rules” World Tour to the James Brown Arena on Friday, March 15. The James Brown Arena once again broke the Augusta box office record, making this five consecutive years. The James Brown Arena is the only venue on the North American Tour to receive this recognition.
After breaking the local record last year, Global Spectrum was presented with an authentic RED, WHITE & BLUE Spalding game ball – autographed by the team – that was used in the Augusta performance on March 16, 2012.
Global Spectrum’s General Manager, Monty Jones Jr, says “Thank you CSRA for yet another great year. We would not have been able to achieve this type of success without your support each and every year. With continued support from the community we can and will continue to break records for years to come.”
“We’re thrilled that Augusta and the James Brown Arena were once again part of our annual tour,” said Harlem Globetrotters’ SVP of Domestic Tour Scheduling Bill Barrett. “The fact that they grew the business five years in a row is an incredible achievement and a testament to the great fans in the area and the staff at the arena.”
