12:15pm – David Beerman and Richard Hudson from the Retreat make the first of 26 weekly appearances on Friday’s radio program. They are currently scheduled to open their coffee bar\regular bar\cigar store and humidor at the end of August. Through these interviews, we’ll learn how the hospitality exec and SRS veteran decided on this concept, how the build-out\code enforcement issues are working, to opening, to learning all about cigars, their customers, and the overall mission—having a place for people to relax away from the stressful economy.
They have taken over the former Papa N Sons location and adjacent bay in Evans across from Wal-Mart.
12:30pm – Dana Atkins, President of The Augusta Chronicle and Alan English, Vice-President of Audience will join you in the studio to chat about the Chronicle’s new All Access digital Membership.
12:45pm – LaVerne Gold (President/CEO, UNITED WAY) will be chatting about their STUFF THE BUS campaign.
United Way of the CSRA will be hosting the “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive on July 27 and 28.
Most families spend over $500 annually on school supplies. United Way is inviting local companies and individuals to donate school items or make a cash donation to go toward the purchase of supplies for children in need. With the community’s help, last year’s Stuff the Bus event raised school supplies valued at over $19,000 for needy children in five local counties.
